1. Who we are
You Made the Cover is operated by One 1-3 LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). By placing an order, you ("you," "customer") agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Orders and payment
Each order is for one custom cover. Prices are in U.S. dollars. Applicable sales tax and shipping are calculated and added at checkout. Payment is due in full when you order. For multiple copies of the same cover, contact hello@youmadethecover.com.
3. Your photo and information
By submitting a photo, story, or other materials, you represent and warrant that:
- you own the photo or have all permissions needed to use it;
- every person pictured has agreed to appear on the cover, or you are the parent or legal guardian of any pictured person under 18;
- your materials do not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights; and
- your materials are not unlawful, hateful, explicit, defamatory, or misleading.
We may decline or cancel any order that does not meet these terms.
4. How covers are created
Covers are designed using artificial intelligence image tools, guided by your photo and story and reviewed by our team. Each finished cover is an artistic interpretation; likeness, details, and backgrounds may differ from your photo. Covers are personalized novelty keepsakes, not real magazine publications, and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any magazine or publisher.
5. Proofs
We send a watermarked proof for your approval before final delivery or printing. You may swap your photo once per order. Once you approve the proof, the cover is final.
6. Delivery
The Spotlight Edition is delivered as a high-resolution digital file. Digital files, including any reveal video, are available to download for 30 days after delivery. Please save them during that time. After 30 days, you may email hello@youmadethecover.com to request a copy of your cover image for up to 6 months after delivery. Reveal videos are not kept after the 30-day download period, and we cannot provide any files after 6 months. Limited and Collector's Editions are printed by our production partner and shipped to U.S. addresses only. Production and delivery times are estimates, not guarantees.
7. All sales final
Because every cover is custom made, all sales are final and no refunds are given. If a printed edition arrives damaged, email photos of the damage to hello@youmadethecover.com within 7 days of delivery and we will replace it at no cost.
8. Using your cover
You may use your cover for personal, non-commercial purposes, including sharing, printing, and gifting. We retain all rights to our designs, layouts, and templates. We will feature your cover in our marketing only if you give us permission on the order form, and you may withdraw that permission at any time by emailing us.
9. Your photos and privacy
We use your photo and information to create and deliver your order and, only with your permission, in our marketing. We do not sell your information. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details.
10. Release of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release One 1-3 LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your order, the materials you submit, or the use or display of your cover, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless One 1-3 LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from (a) any photo, story, or other materials you submit, including any claim that you lacked permission to use them or that they infringe or violate the rights of any person; (b) your use of the cover; or (c) your breach of these terms.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted when you place your order applies to that order.
